About Me

My journey:  I began my career at 12 by assisting my family's motorcycle dealership. I would assemble motorcycles by pulling them out of crates. This fed my desire to understand how things work.   Learning has always been extremely important to me, which led to my career path as a middle school science teacher, instructional coach, and eventually a principal. Transitioning into school administration, I developed a strong interest in adult learning. My current role as an instructional designer allows me to pursue my passion for understanding how to help adult learners best gain the knowledge and skills they need to excel in their jobs and advance in their careers.  I find fulfillment in facilitating a learning environment that nurtures professional growth and development that nurtures professional growth and development.

My drive:  I am passionate about learning design because it helps people acquire the skills they need to succeed in their jobs and careers.

What I bring to the project:  I sold my first motorcycle to an adult when I was just 14. I learned that in order to engage someone in learning, you have to show them the need they have for the information. This philosophy has contributed to my success as a teacher, corporate trainer, and e-learning designer. I also have a background in project management, strong organizational skills, and a desire to get things done.

My joy: When I'm not immersed in technology, you can often find me rockhounding around Arizona. There's nothing quite as exciting as discovering the geological wonders of the Southwest. I also enjoy spending time with my family and 2 crazy cats.
